The Central Bank of Sudan: regular work in most bank branches and no fear for deposits

The Central Bank of Sudan announced the regularity of work in most of its branches in the various states of the country, as of Sunday, April 30, 2023, indicating that commercial bank branches have begun to provide their banking services, including withdrawal and cash deposit services.

And the Central Bank stated, through an explanatory statement carried by the Sudanese News Agency, “There was a partial and limited fire that broke out at the Central Bank of Sudan – Khartoum branch on Al-Baladiyah Street 3 days ago, and it was controlled, and it caused damage to the external cladding (aluminum panels) of the building, and there were no significant damages to be mentioned.” And thank God .

The bank reassured depositors and bank account holders that their money is safe in the banking system, and that the looting or theft of some commercial bank branches does not affect citizens’ deposits in banks.

The Central Bank of Sudan also confirmed that it is making continuous efforts to restore all banking services normally throughout the country to enable citizens to conduct their banking transactions through various payment methods, including electronic payment services such as mobile phone applications, points of sale and electronic clearing .
