Tomorrow, Monday, in Amman, the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Egypt will meet with the Syrian foreign minister, to discuss Damascus' return to the Arab League.
Reuters reported that this meeting comes within the framework of a broader political settlement to the war that has been going on for more than 10 years in Syria.
Jordanian officials told Reuters that the meeting is discussing a Jordanian plan to achieve a political settlement to the conflict.
This meeting comes after two weeks of talks that took place in the Saudi city of Jeddah between the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, but they did not reach an agreement on the possible return of Syria to the Arab League.
The Jordan News Agency reported that the ministerial meeting scheduled in Amman comes as a continuation of the consultative meeting held recently in Jeddah "and to build on the contacts that these countries made with the Syrian government and in the context of its proposals, and the Jordanian initiative to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis."
