Islamabad. April 6 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the children to work hard and said that it is indispensable for progress and success in life. Addressing the Iftar reception in honor of the orphans at the President's House, the President of the State urged them to inculcate in themselves the qualities of compassion, love and respect for elders. He said that in the Holy Quran, Allah Ta'ala has ordered to treat orphans well.
He said that hard work will open new ways of development in practical life. Describing the similarity with the life of the Holy Prophet, the President said that the Holy Prophet also lost his father when he was a child. He also referred to a Qur'anic verse which mentions the orphanhood of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, 'Has he not given you shelter as an orphan? On this occasion, the President mingled with the children and told them that the Presidency actually belongs to them.
Earlier, Chairman of Pakistan Orphans Care Forum Abdul Shakoor said in his speech that 15th of Ramadan is celebrated as Orphans' Day. He said that around 18 welfare organizations are meeting the education, health, food and other needs of more than 4 million orphans across Pakistan. He called for concerted efforts at the government and national levels to support the upbringing of orphans and to provide them with maximum opportunities to excel in their lives.
