Clashes between the army and the paramilitary group "RSF" in Sudan began on April 15. Now the Central Bank of Sudan has reportedly caught fire. Photos of the fire in the central bank have been widely shared by activists on social media.
The head office of the central bank is located in the capital Khartoum. It is being told that the fire broke out in the central bank on Sunday morning.
On the other hand, the government authorities have not informed the details of this fire. Government agencies have not confirmed or denied the fire. There is no word on whether the fire was self-inflicted or if it was started by a party to the fight. It should be noted that the Central Bank of Sudan has 17 branches in different states of Sudan.
Recall that on April 19, the Sudanese army accused the Rapid Support Forces of attacks and looting. In a statement, the army said that rebel Rapid Support militia looted the Central Bank, Municipality Street branch and set it on fire.
