Watch .. Real Madrid defeat Chelsea and Milan settle Napoli in the quarter-finals of the European Champions League

Real Madrid, Spain, took an important step towards qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League, by defeating its guest, Chelsea, with a clean double, at a time when Milan decided a purely Italian confrontation by defeating Napoli with a goal without a response.

In the first match at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid achieved the most important and came out with a two-goal victory over Chelsea, by scoring a goal in each half, to go halfway towards reaching the semi-finals.

Frenchman Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the 21st minute, taking advantage of a ball that bounced off Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, after a shot from Brazilian Vinicius Junior.

This is the 90th goal in Benzema's Champions League career in 149 matches, and it is his eighth in the quarter-finals.

Substitute Marco Asensio added the second goal in the 74th minute with a perfect shot from outside the penalty area, taking advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of the Blues, after his left-back Ben Chilwell was sent off in the 59th minute after his strong intervention on Brazilian Rodrigo.

In the second match at the San Siro stadium, Milan scored a victory over Napoli with a goal without a response, which he owes to his Algerian international midfielder, Ismail Bennacer, who scored the only goal with a powerful shot in the 40th minute.

This victory is the second in a row for Milan over Napoli within about 10 days, after its victory over it at the beginning of this month, by four without a response, in the Italian League.

The return matches of the quarter-finals are scheduled to take place next week, as Chelsea hosts Real Madrid on Tuesday, and on the same day Napoli meets Milan.

The next day, Bayern Munich plays with Manchester City, and Inter Milan plays with Benfica, Portugal.
