
Qatar Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Republic of Namibia aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The MoU paves the way for enhanced cooperation in the energy sector, covering key areas including knowledge sharing, workforce development and exploring more investment opportunities in Namibia.
"The agreement further supports relations between the two countries as we work together for a prosperous future," said Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Energy.

Qatar Energy recently announced the discovery of a light oil reservoir in the "Jonker 1-X" well in the Orange basin located in deep waters off the southern coast of Namibia, and it came in the wake of two oil discoveries announced in 2022.
Qatar Energy owns stakes in 3 offshore exploration licenses in Namibia with a total area of more than 28,000 square kilometres.
