Lahore. May 13 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his satisfaction over the abundant wheat crop this year and said that practical steps should be taken to deliver the benefits of the abundant wheat crop to the farmers. And taking strict notice of the increase in flour prices, he directed the concerned authorities to take steps to control the price of flour and wheat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Prime Minister gave these instructions while presiding over an important review meeting regarding wheat procurement and supply and demand in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was held in Kolhaur on Saturday.

Directed the concerned authorities to take measures to control the price of flour and wheat in KP. The meeting was told that 300,000 flour bags of 10 kg are being provided daily from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on which the Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to increase the supply of flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In this regard, the Prime Minister also directed the chief secretaries of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to prepare an action plan together. The Prime Minister said that hoarding and smuggling of wheat will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Strict action should be taken against the illegal hoarders so that flour reaches the common people without any hindrance. The meeting was informed that Punjab will soon meet the target regarding the purchase of wheat.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told the meeting that the delivery of 80 thousand tons of wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by PASCO is in progress. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Adviser to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Makam, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Secretary National Food Security and Research, Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other relevant officers participated in the meeting.
