Islamabad. December 6 (APP): Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was met by Sri Lanka's Minister of State for Finance HE Mr. Sheehan Seemasinghe and Deputy Secretary Finance Mr. Priyantha Rathanayaka at the Finance Division on Tuesday. On this occasion SAPM Tariq Bajwa for Finance and other senior officers of Finance Division attended the meeting. The Finance Minister welcomed the delegation and informed about the overall economic outlook of Pakistan.
The Finance Minister also informed about the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation program after the floods and said that due to the practical policies of the present government, Pakistan's economy has faced the negative effects of the devastating flood crisis. The Finance Minister of Sri Lanka informed about the economic situation of Sri Lanka and said that Sri Lanka is currently suffering from a major economic crisis.
He appreciated the well-established and fully regulated digital cash transfer system and social safety net in Pakistan in the form of BISP. The Finance Minister offered that Pakistan would be happy to provide any assistance to Sri Lanka in terms of technical assistance and capacity building.
The Finance Minister expressed his best wishes and offered full support and cooperation to HE Mr. Sheehan Seemasinghe, Minister of State for Finance of Sri Lanka in this hour of crisis. The Finance Minister of Sri Lanka thanked Federal Finance Minister and Revenue Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar for his support and goodwill.
