Islamabad. May 23 (APP): Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Rana Tanveer Hussain visited Islamabad Model College for Girls Shahullah Dutta on Tuesday. Senior officers of the Ministry of Education were also accompanied by the Minister on this occasion. Additional Secretary Salman Mufti briefed the Federal Minister that according to BISP data, about 52,796 children are out of school in ICT. He told the federal minister that the ministry has planned to solve this problem on his instructions. He said that in the first week of May 2023, the Ministry of Education has launched a plan to implement the Zero Out of School Children in ICT campaign.
Rana Tanveer Hussain was informed that FDE, NCHD, BECS, NGOs and various NGOs are partners of the Ministry in this campaign. The Federal Minister was informed that the campaign has started from five UCs Sharifabad, Sohan, Shahullah Dutta, Golra Sharif and Burma Town. The Ministry of Education has established Field Control Centers in collaboration with several NGOs to monitor progress in Burma Town (NCHD and Jinnah Junior Trust). These include Sohan (BECS), Sharifabad (Alite Pakistan, FDE), Golra Sharif (FDE & NEF) and Shahullah Dutta (FDE School & NCHD).
The Federal Minister was informed that 6549 out-of-school children have been identified so far with the collective efforts of all stakeholders, out of which 3396 children have been admitted to various government and private schools. NCHD and BECS have deployed their teams in the field for this campaign – (around 100 personnel from NCHD and 40 from BECS) All partners are committed and 30 June 2023 Planning to reach Zero OOSC in Islamabad till
