Former US President Donald Trump was questioned – yesterday, Thursday – before the New York Public Prosecutor, in a case related to falsifying financial statements.
Trump appeared in a closed-door questioning session against the background of a civil lawsuit brought against him by the state's attorney general, Letitia James.
Trump, his company and 3 of his children were accused of amplifying wealth in order to benefit from loans.
And Reuters quoted a source familiar with the case that the former president answered during the session, which lasted for several hours, the questions that were directed to him, while he refused to answer 400 questions in the previous session last August.
According to Attorney General Letitia James, the former president, his sons and companies obtained $250 million through "fraud".
Trump left a tower bearing his name in New York towards the Public Prosecutor's Office, amid heavy security, after he waved his hand to his supporters.

"ridiculous" case
In posts on his "Truth Social" platform, the former US president described the whole issue as ridiculous as other issues and interference in the elections.
It is noteworthy that this case is civil and not criminal, and therefore any penalty resulting from it will be financial fines, and does not include any prison sentence. The trial for this lawsuit will begin later this year.
A limited number of supporters and opponents of Trump demonstrated in the vicinity of the New York Attorney General's office.
Some of the former president's opponents raised a banner that read, "No one is above the law."
Trump's questioning at the New York Public Prosecutor's Office comes a week after he appeared before a court in the city following criminal charges against him in another case, in a precedent described as historic.
