November 19 (APP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, while strongly rejecting the baseless and irresponsible statements and rumors about the country's economy for political purposes, said that Pakistan has never defaulted in its international payments and is not close to it. Yes, Pakistan will make all its payments on time and there will be no delay, the government has arranged all international payments for the next one year, there are reserves of petroleum products according to the country's need and demand and there is no need for any kind of worry. Current account deficit is expected to remain below target.

In his video message on Saturday, the Finance Minister said that for the past few days, baseless and irresponsible rumors are being spread about the country's economy for political purposes and ambitions. Pakistan's economy, economic interests and relations are also affected in foreign countries, but these rumors also affect the affairs and transactions with our bilateral and multilateral partners and they get information about why their own people are talking about this.


The Finance Minister said that rumors are being spread that Pakistan will not be able to pay the one billion dollar sovereign bond (sukuk) in December, it is baseless and contrary to facts, Pakistan has never defaulted in its international payments and will never come close to it. I strongly deny this rumour, Pakistan will make all its payments on time and there will be no delay, the government has arranged all international payments for the next one year and steps have been taken in this regard, so no need to worry. do not have.

The finance minister said that for political purposes, rumors are also being spread with reference to Pakistan's credit default swap, they have their own ambitions and formula with reference to credit default swap, this is a baseless thing and the spectacle should be stopped in this regard, Pakistan 22 crores. It is the country of the people, propagating the default of Pakistan on the basis of irresponsible statements and rumors is an abuse of the country. According to the country's need and demand, there are reserves of petroleum products and there is no need for any kind of problem.

Apart from disturbing the public, such rumors also create concern in the financial and international institutions and they send questions, which not only harms the efforts for economic interests but also wastes time. The Finance Minister said that there are still rumors about the current account deficit. We keep a close eye on the current accounts, it is being looked at professionally, it is being monitored and it is also being managed and regulated.


The Minister of Finance said that the current account deficit was 316 million dollars in the month of September, which is expected to be 400 million dollars in October. The target is 12 billion dollars. The Finance Minister said that in the light of these facts, he appeals to all Pakistanis not to listen to any kind of rumours, Pakistan is the first for us, for the country's economy we need to work beyond political affiliations.
