May 26 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan's textile industry is developing despite the problems and challenges, provide all possible resources to increase the country's exports and improve the textile industry despite the financial problems. Textiles are the backbone not only for the economy but also for exports. The Prime Minister expressed these views while addressing the Textile Expo on Friday. While congratulating the organizers of the Textile Expo, the Prime Minister said that this Expo I also have investors from abroad which is welcome. The textile sector is the focus of our exports.
He said that Pakistan's demand for netwear and garments from global brands, innovation in old textile technology are important milestones of this sector. Commerce Minister, Secretary Commerce and their team and Chairman of Pakistan Trade Development Authority Zubair Motiwala have outstanding performance for the improvement of this sector. He said that the share of textile sector in the country's exports is 60 percent.
He asked the experts related to textile sector to come forward and give their suggestions for Pakistan's exports and improvement of this sector. The Prime Minister said that he will start the series of pre-budget meetings from next week. Finance Minister was also supposed to come with me, but he could not come, Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghos Pasha and Special Assistant Dr. Tariq Bajwa are playing an active role to increase our exports, they are with me.

He appreciated the organizers of the expo for organizing a rich exhibition. Karachi is a wonderful city of Pakistan and the founder of Pakistan is buried here. A National Compliance Cell has been established by the Ministry of Commerce. Which was the need of the time. We are grateful to the European Union for giving us GSP Plus status. He said that we are aware of the fact that steps are being taken to fulfill all the essentials including good governance.

Federal Minister of Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar said that the environment is very favorable for investment in Pakistan, inviting the whole world to buy Made in Pakistan products.
He said that Pakistan's textile products are of very high quality. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, economies around the world are facing a crisis. He said that the economy can be stabilized by increasing exports. It is proof of the determination of the improvement of the textile industry, Trade Development Authority Pakistan Zubair Motiwala said that the textile industry is the backbone of Pakistan, Pakistan is the fifth largest cotton producing country in the world.
