The China Foundation for Human Rights Development undertook and managed the "History·Human Rights·Peace" fund with remarkable results

Newspaper, Beijing, November 27th (Reporter Liu Junguo) The reporter learned from the first "Sino-Japanese Friendship and Historical Responsibility" seminar on the 27th that the "History·Human Rights·Peace" Fund has been in operation for more than 3 years. 129 million yuan of apology was distributed to families of Chinese labor victims, which was fully affirmed by the majority of Chinese labor families and related parties.
In September 2019, the China Foundation for Human Rights Development signed a trusteeship agreement with Japan's Mitsubishi Materials Corporation to officially undertake the management of the company's "History·Human Rights·Peace" fund involving the rights and interests of 3,765 Chinese labor victims of World War II for a period of 5 years.
It is reported that during the Second World War, 3,765 Chinese laborers were forced to work in the workplaces of Mitsubishi Mining Corporation, the predecessor of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in Japan, and its contracting companies (including the contracting companies of Mitsubishi Mining Corporation’s subsidiaries). 722 Chinese laborers died. In order to solve this problem left over from history, through the unremitting efforts of people from China and Japan, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation of Japan reached a settlement agreement with three Chinese labor representatives in June 2016, acknowledging the historical facts of its human rights violations and expressing its sincerity Apologize, and pay 100,000 RMB in apology to each Chinese laborer or his survivor. At the same time, the company funded the establishment of monuments in places where Chinese laborers were forced to work, and organized sacrifices and mourning activities.
