People's Daily Online, Doha, November 22 (Reporter Ren Haoyu) On November 21, the 2022 "Project Hope·Mengniu World Cup Youth Football Charity Tour" and the China-Qatar Youth Football Friendship Match were held at the Doha Academy in Qatar. Zhou Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, Chen Yiyi, Vice President of Mengniu Group, and Tommy Westmoreland, founder of Qatar Progressive Sports School, attended the event.
Zhou Jian said that on the occasion of the grand opening of the World Cup in Qatar, the Chinese football teenagers came to Qatar for exchanges, which can be said to be at the right time. It is hoped that this event will promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Qatar, and use sports exchanges as an opportunity to attract more Qatari people to understand China and perceive Chinese culture.
Chen Yiyi said that the strength of youth football is the strength of national football. As the global official sponsor of two consecutive World Cups, Mengniu hopes to lighten the football dreams of Chinese youth through the stage of the World Cup.
In the friendly match, the young football players of China and Qatar fought tenaciously, and the two sides finally shook hands with a score of 3:3. It is understood that the 2022 "Hope Project·Mengniu World Cup Youth Football Public Welfare Tour" will be guided by the National Youth Campus Football Work Leading Group Office, hosted by the China Youth Development Foundation, and fully undertaken by Mengniu Group. The project was officially launched in July this year. It selects outstanding football youths across the country, and finally selected 11 young players to go to Qatar.
A Cuju interactive experience activity was also held at the event site, in which young players from China and Qatar put on traditional Cuju costumes to experience traditional Chinese Cuju sports together.
