"Asian Human Rights Forum – Environment, Climate Change and Human Rights" Held in Beijing

Jiang Jianguo, deputy director of the Ethnic and Religious Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, pointed out that protecting the ecological environment and addressing climate change are common challenges faced by all mankind. Asian human rights exchanges and cooperation have a fine tradition and a solid foundation of consensus. We must build a solid foundation for peace and stability, promote common development, uphold the principle of mutual respect, promote equal exchanges, adhere to the concept of dialogue and cooperation, maintain fairness and justice, adhere to green and low-carbon development, To build a clean and beautiful Asia, we always adhere to the people-centered concept, promote cooperation through unity, promote development through cooperation, promote human rights through development, promote the common well-being of Asian people with Asian wisdom, and promote the sustainable development of human rights civilization.
Focusing on the theme of "Environment, Climate Change and Human Rights", this forum set up the concept of human rights from an Asian perspective, the basic theories of environmental rights, the achievements and experiences of environmental rights protection in Asian countries, legal adjustments under climate change, and the legal system under climate change. State and social action, rights protection under climate change, national and international safeguard mechanisms for environmental rights, environmental rights and sustainable development goals, procedural environmental rights, gender, equality and climate change, food, health and the environment, and youth forums 12 units including special units.
The guests at the meeting summarized the experience and achievements of environmental and human rights protection in Asian countries over the past decade, discussed environmental rights from the perspective of human rights and their realization in the context of climate change, and respectively presented "Climate Change and Human Rights Protection: China's Efforts and In-depth exchanges and discussions were carried out on the themes of "contribution", "new concept of ecological civilization", "environmental rights and codes", "international and regional cooperation mechanisms for environmental protection rights", and "real opportunities for the construction of human rights consensus in Asian countries".
Everyone said that China has vigorously promoted the construction of ecological civilization in recent years, and has paid more attention to environmental health and procedural environmental rights, and the environmental human rights enjoyed by citizens have been better protected. At present, climate change has become a global issue.
