Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, November 22 (Reporter Liu Kai) Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with visiting Cuban President Diaz-Canel on November 22. The leaders of the two countries reiterated that they will continue to develop bilateral relations and cooperation.
According to the website of the Russian President, Putin said during the meeting that Russia will continue to support the Cuban people's struggle for independence and sovereignty, oppose various restrictions, embargoes and blockades against Cuba, and will also support Cuba on the international stage. Russia and Cuba should continue to deepen cooperation based on the current situation.
Dias-Canel said that Cuba appreciates Russia's efforts to promote the process of multi-polarization in the world, and will continue to make every effort to develop and strengthen bilateral relations.
The two sides also discussed the bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, as well as related international hotspot issues. Before the talks, Putin and Diaz-Canel jointly inaugurated a monument to former Cuban leader Fidel Castro in Moscow.
