Danny Simby (first from the right), who won the title of "Excellent Employee", received the commendation.
In mid-November, with several days of rainy weather, Malawi in southeastern Africa officially entered the hot wet season from the dry dry season, and the temperature in the Nsanje area soared to 44 degrees Celsius. On May 11 this year, after the Nsanje-Marka Highway under construction was completed and opened to traffic, China Railway 20th Bureau once again won the construction task of the second-phase project extension line by virtue of the reputation it won in the construction of this highway.
With the continuation of the project construction, the 33-year-old local youth Danny Xinbi also followed the builders of the China Railway 20th Bureau to the construction site of the second phase of the project. Through the unremitting efforts of the staff from both China and Malaysia, the construction of the second phase of the project will be coming to an end these days. Looking at the straight and dark asphalt road stretching from his door to the distance, with a smile on his face, Danny Simby's mood was as hot as the weather.
Since joining the China Railway 20th Bureau, which undertook the construction of this road, in early 2019, he has witnessed the gradual evolution of this unformed dirt road in his hometown into a straight and wide asphalt road in more than three years. And he has also completed a gorgeous transformation from a driver to a field supervisor.
"The Nsanje-Marka Highway has brought great changes to our local people. Many friends have not only found stable jobs on the project, but also learned a lot of skills and experience. This peace of mind and gain has made everyone's life better. Happier and happier!" During his several years of working in China Railway 20th Bureau, Danny Simby built a new house for his family and bought brand new furniture. Last year, Danny's parents also came to live with him in the city from the countryside.
In the Nsanje area, there are many local people like Danny Simbi who have improved their family life through road construction. In the past three years, China Railway 20th Bureau has provided jobs for nearly 10,000 local people and trained nearly 500 technical talents, of which nearly 200 local employees have entered management positions.
"I like working with Chinese colleagues. They are not only hardworking and kind, but also teach us to use continuous efforts to improve the lives of ourselves and our families." Working with Chinese colleagues, Danny Simby has always been fascinated by Chinese people's work and life Attitude contagious. He remembered that when the new crown pneumonia epidemic broke out in 2020, faced with the severe situation of tight project schedule, few personnel, and heavy tasks, the project leader stayed on the construction site day and night, and all construction personnel rushed to lay asphalt pavement. Danny Simby was deeply infected, and he also consciously joined the ranks of overtime work, and worked together to complete the node task of laying the road section.
As the Nsanje-Marka highway is about to be completed, the "neighbor" of this highway-the Malawi Marka-Bangura Railway, also undertaken by the China Railway 20th Bureau, will also be put into construction.
Danny Simby was very excited. He said: "I not only participated in and witnessed the construction of the road at my doorstep, but also continued to devote myself to the construction of the railway at my doorstep!" When asked about his vision, Danny said: "In I am the best myself in the construction industry and shape myself with a high degree of work spirit. I hope that I will become an architect under the leadership of the China Railway 20th Bureau and contribute to the transportation cause of my hometown.”
