As early as November 2014, when President Xi Jinping met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen who came to China to attend the Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership, he made it clear that China and Cambodia should insist on being close friends and reliable partners, and work together through thick and thin. This traditional friendship is very precious, and we must unswervingly uphold and develop it, so that China-Cambodia relations can continue to develop and form a community of shared destiny that supports each other. During the visit to Cambodia, Premier Li Keqiang met and held talks with King Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen respectively. The two sides jointly issued the China-Cambodia Joint Communiqué and signed more than ten bilateral cooperation documents on agriculture and infrastructure between the two countries. The two sides also agreed to designate 2023 as the "China-Cambodia Friendship Year".
