North Korea’s imports from China amounted to US$132.43 million, an increase of 47% from the previous month and 233% from the same period last year. North Korea's exports to China amounted to US$21.43 million, an increase of 51% from the previous month and 971% from the same period last year. The trade volume between North Korea and China has maintained a year-on-year growth trend for four consecutive months since July.
According to analysis, as the epidemic situation in North Korea has stabilized, North Korea has expanded its trade with China through sea routes. In addition, the freight train between Dandong, China and Sinuiju, North Korea has restarted on September 26, which has promoted the year-on-year and month-on-month increase in the trade volume between the two sides in October.
