People's Daily Online, Bangkok, November 25 (Reporter Sun Guangyong) Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports revealed that the total number of inbound foreign tourists in the first 11 months of this year has exceeded 8 million, and it is expected that the number of foreign tourists will reach 10 million in 2022.
Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Pipa revealed at the press conference that the number of inbound tourists from January 1, 2022 to November 19, 2022 will reach 8,206,035, and the top five tourist source markets are Malaysia with 1,450,528, India with 780,836, and Singapore with 431,510. People, Laos 391,446 and Vietnam 382,075. Among them, the return of passengers from Singapore and Malaysia completed the target for this year ahead of schedule.
According to the future bookings of air tickets and hotel accommodation, it is estimated that the number of foreign tourists will reach 9-10 million by the end of this year, which will bring Thailand at least 1.2 trillion baht in revenue and complete the expected goal.
Currently, various tourism-related events are being held across Thailand to attract more tourists. Pipa said that a large number of tourists have entered Thailand for tourism, which has promoted the growth of Thailand's tourism economy and brought benefits to the people at the same time. It is hoped that the number of inbound tourists will exceed 18 million next year, which is about 45% of the pre-epidemic level in 2019.
