Wang Jiabao, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, said in his speech that the current China-Ireland economic and trade relations are developing healthily and stably, and the two-way investment between the two countries has maintained a good momentum of development. He hoped that this investment conference will add new impetus to the development of China-Ireland economic and trade relations.
Representatives from Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and other departments introduced the city's business environment and expressed welcome for more Irish companies to invest in Shenzhen. According to reports, by the end of last year, nearly 30 Irish companies had settled in Shenzhen. Ireland's advantages in the fields of biopharmaceuticals, financial services and technology are highly compatible with Shenzhen's industrial development strategy of vigorously developing advanced manufacturing and promoting the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries.
Parek Hayes, official of the Irish Investment and Development Authority, told Xinhua News Agency that there are currently more than 40 Chinese companies investing in Ireland, employing more than 3,000 people. These enterprises have contributed to the economic and social development of Ireland, and more Chinese enterprises are welcome to settle down in Ireland.
Representatives from the Irish business community and relevant institutions shared their experiences and investment suggestions in Shenzhen during the event, and spoke highly of Shenzhen's leading infrastructure, strong innovation capabilities, friendly business environment and rich human resources.
This event, hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, is an important part of the series of activities at the European Branch of the Shenzhen Global Investment Conference.
