OECD predicts global economy will grow by 2.2% in 2023

Xinhua News Agency, Paris, November 22 (Reporter Liu Fang) The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) released an economic outlook report on the 22nd, predicting that the global economy will grow by 3.1% in 2022, slow down to 2.2% in 2023, and slow to 2.2% in 2024. An annual growth rate of 2.7%.
Global growth is expected to slow further in the year ahead as the energy shock triggered by the Ukraine crisis continues to fuel inflation, raising global risks, the report said.
The report predicts that major emerging market economies in Asia will account for nearly three-quarters of global gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2023. Economic growth in the US and Europe is slowing sharply. The U.S. economy will grow by 1.8% this year and slow down to 0.5% next year; the Eurozone economy will grow by 3.3% this year and slow to 0.5% next year; the UK economy will grow by 4.4% this year and negatively grow by 0.4% next year .
The report pointed out that if energy prices rise further, or if energy supply disruptions affect natural gas and electricity markets in Europe and Asia, the global economic growth outlook may be weaker than expected.
