Details: The second round of negotiations between the South Korean government and the freight union broke down

Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, Sejong, November 30th. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of South Korea (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Land and Resources) and the "Cargo Joint Headquarters" (hereinafter referred to as the "Cargo Joint Link") under the National Federation of Democratic Labor Unions' freight unions conducted a discussion on issues such as the cargo safety freight system on the 30th. The second round of negotiations broke down after only 40 minutes.
The goods strike on the 24th has entered its seventh day. The two sides conducted the first round of negotiations on the focus of dispute on the 28th, but the negotiations ended in vain. On the 29th, the government issued an order to the owner of the cement truck to start work, and on the 30th, the second round of negotiations with the cargo was held, but the two sides still failed to narrow their differences.
An official who attended the meeting told reporters after leaving the venue that the two sides confirmed each other's positions. The government reiterated safety concerns and urged union members to return to work as soon as possible. The goods association said that the trade union made sincere suggestions, but the government still insisted that there was no room for negotiation, which led to the breakdown of the negotiations. The cargo joint company also released press materials urging the government and the ruling party to immediately withdraw the order to start work, and to have a sincere dialogue with the cargo joint company.
Cargo said that it has asked the government to negotiate again tomorrow, but the government has not responded to this, so the union will further intensify the fight. The government believes that if the goods company does not stop the strike, the government does not need to conduct further dialogue with it.
According to analysis, the second negotiation also ended in vain, and the government is considering expanding the scope of application of the resumption order to steel, oil refining and other fields and increasing pressure. It is difficult for the two sides to solve the problem through dialogue in the short term.
Cargo requires the government to permanently implement the safe freight system and expand its scope of application. But the government has stuck to its stance that it can only be extended until this year and cannot be extended. The key point of the cargo safety freight system is to set the lower limit of freight charges to prevent freight car owners from being overworked, overloaded, and speeding. (Finish)
