Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, November 25th. RM, the leader of the BTS, was commended by the Korean Cultural Heritage Administration (Heritage Bureau) for his contribution to the protection and restoration of lost Korean cultural relics.
According to the music scene on the 25th, RM was awarded a thank you plaque in the name of Cui Yingtian, director of the Cultural Heritage Department, on October 31st. The Cultural Heritage Administration thanks RM for his sincere concern for Korean history and cultural heritage, and for his significant contribution to the protection and promotion of Korean cultural relics abroad.
RM has donated 100 million won (approximately RMB 538,000) to the overseas cultural relics protection and restoration project of the Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation for two consecutive years. The donations were used for the conservation and restoration of the Joseon dynasty broadclothes and the cataloging of Korean paintings.
RM has always been interested in art and has quite a lot of accomplishments. His first solo album "Indigo" released on the 2nd of next month also draws inspiration from the works of the late artist Yoon Hyung-geun. (Finish)
