The African Development Bank predicts that East Africa's economic growth rate will reach 4.7% next year

Xinhua News Agency, Nairobi, November 28 (Reporter Li Zhuoqun) According to the latest "East Africa Regional Economic Outlook 2022" report released by the African Development Bank recently, the economic growth rate of East Africa will reach 4.7% in 2023.
Economic growth in East Africa will slow to 4.0% in 2022 due to rising energy and food prices, sluggish global supply chains, and high inflation due to natural disasters, the report said. In 2023, the economic growth rate of East Africa will recover to 4.7%, and it is possible to become the top growth region on the African continent again.
The report predicts that the economic growth rates of Kenya, Rwanda and Seychelles will exceed 5% in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, Comoros, Somalia, and Sudan may experience growth rates below 3%.
