The two sides announced their respective science and technology innovation policies, exchanged views on research security, and checked the current status of cooperation between institutions and researchers of the two countries in innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, batteries, biology, agricultural technology, optics, and semiconductors.
Artificial intelligence is a key area of cooperation between the two countries and has been selected as the main topic for two consecutive days. More than 10 institutions from the two countries participated in the discussion, shared the ecological environment of the artificial intelligence industry and boosted policy information, and explored opportunities for cooperation, including integrating industries to cultivate artificial intelligence talents, and developing manufacturing technologies based on artificial intelligence. The two sides agreed to promote the "Korea-Canada Researcher Symposium" as an example in the future to promote exchanges between researchers from the two countries.
The Korea-Canada Science, Technology and Innovation Joint Committee meeting is a regular meeting held regularly in accordance with the "Korea-Canada Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Agreement" signed by the two governments in December 2016. (Finish)
