Korea's 13 major export products ranked fourth in the world in terms of global market share last year


Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, November 22. A report released by the International Trade and Commerce Institute of the Korea International Trade Association on the 22nd shows that in 2021, the global market share of South Korea's 13 major exports will rise to 5.16%, ranking fourth in the world.
The global market share of Korea’s 13 major export products was 4.94% in 2019, ranking fifth in the world, while the outbreak of the new crown epidemic will increase by 0.22 percentage points from 2020 to 2021, and the ranking will rise to fourth in 2020 for two consecutive years stay the same.
In terms of categories, from 2019 to 2021, the market share of automobiles, ships, petrochemicals, petroleum products, and computers will all increase. In particular, the market share of automobiles will rise from 6th to 5th, and home appliances will rise from 11th to 1st. 9. Computers rose from 13th to 10th. However, the market share of semiconductors fell by 0.16%, and the ranking dropped from 4th to 5th, and the market share of steel also decreased by 0.58%.
According to the report, in the two major export markets of South Korea, China and the United States, the export competitiveness of Korean products has also been continuously improved. In the first eight months of this year, in China's import market, the proportion of South Korea's 13 main export products increased by 0.34 percentage points year-on-year to 15.13%, ranking second.
