Ecuador and manager Félix Sánchez have parted ways in the immediate aftermath of their shoot-out loss to Argentina in Copa América.
The South American side drew 1-1 with Argentina in normal time, but fell to a 4-2 loss on penalties to see Lionel Messi and co. advance to the semi final of the competition in their place.
And they have wasted no time in making changes, with Ecuador’s FA announcing that they had terminated “the contractual relationship” between themselves and Sánchez, despite the coach having won 10 of his 19 games in charge since he arrived on a four year deal in March 2023.
