A woman, 18, died and two teens were injured in a shooting on Saturday night during a Halloween party on the 100 block of a Paris Avenue home.
Akron detectives are still investigating the shooting.
Officers were called to the home at 10:46 p.m., and they found the 18-year-old with severe gunshot wounds. She was transported to an area hospital, where she died. Police also found a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female near the residence who had been wounded. The two teens had run away from the incident after being shot, according to Akron police. They were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
The victims’ names are being withheld pending further investigation.
Responding officers detained a man, 18, after a brief foot chase and recovered a handgun he had tossed away while fleeing police. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing official business, and was booked at the Summit County Jail. Police are still determining what role, if any, he may have had in the Paris Avenue shooting.
According to police, during the Halloween party, and unknown male drew a handgun and fired shots while inside the house, striking the three victims.
