A man and woman were in custody Sunday, charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting Friday evening near downtown Lubbock.
Police responded to a reported robbery in progress about 8:37 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of 21st Street. Officers were not immediately able to locate an incident in the area and could not contact t the reporting party.
Officers later returned to the area and received information of an incident near another residence in the 1900 block of 21st Street.

Officers located an unsecured residence, made entry, and located 28-year-old Brittany Blakely unresponsive.
EMS responded and pronounced Blakely dead at the scene. The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit and the Forensic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
Investigators believe 19-year-old Ariyah Jimenez, 26-year-old Nathaniel Moreno and Blakely were involved in an altercation that ended in Blakely being shot. It was not immediately clear how the initially reported robbery factored in to the violence.
Police obtained arrest warrants for Jimenez and Moreno. Through coordinated efforts with the Texas Anti-Gang Center, Jimenez was arrested at 10:18 p.m.

Saturday in the 4200 block of South Loop 289. TAG located and arrested Moreno about 12:54 a.m. Sunday in the 7000 block of Country Road 6300.
They were both taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where they are each being held on a $250,000 bond.
