2024 Nappanee Firefighters/EMT Awards presented

Dec. 10—NAPPANEE — The Nappanee Firefighters/EMT annual awards night took place Dec. 4 at American Legion Post 154. The guest speaker for the evening was State Fire Marshal Steven Jones. Larry Thompson, former mayor, firefighter/EMT and Jones presented the awards for the evening.

Alec Chapman was honored with the Delb Yoder Memorial Award as Nappanee’s Fireman of the Year.

EMT of the Year went to Nate Yoder. It was noted that Nate’s dedication of service to the city in the duties as an emergency medical professional, serving above and beyond the call of duty.

Recognition of the retired members Tye Chupp, Ryan Miller and Brent Warren followed the firefighter and EMT of the Year recipients’ awards. Miller and Warren retired after 20-plus years of service in the Nappanee Fire Department. Chupp had 20 years of service to the residents of Indiana, with honored, dedication, excellence and commitment to the emergency medical service as paramedic.
