
Last month, the auto industry in Turkey recorded a record level of export value, amounting to $3.3 billion.
According to data from the Automotive Exporters Association yesterday, Sunday, exports increased by about 23% in March, compared to the same period last year.
The data showed that total exports exceeded $8.619 billion in the first quarter of this year, an increase of about 16% on an annual basis.
Automotive Exporters Association President Baran Celik said the record set last month reinforces his plan to achieve an annual export target of $34 billion.
It is noteworthy that, at the beginning of this month, Turkey launched the first electric car to be produced in the country, under the name "TOGG", and 20,000 cars will be manufactured by the company during the current year, to meet the local demand, and the "TOG" company is looking forward to competing in the international market in the future.
