Augustine Philip Mahiga Tanzanian Minister born 28 August 1945 has died today on 1st May 2020 in Dodoma after a short illness, he was 74 years old.
Augustine Mahiga was a Tanzanian Minister of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, president Magufuli has announced the death of Mahiga.
According to reports, the minister died while being taken to medical facilities from his Dodoma home.
Details of the sudden death of the former UN special envoy to Somalia are still unknown.
President Magufuli praised the Minister as a dedicated hard worker who has diligently served in various senior positions at home and abroad.
Immediately after the news, including the German embassies in the United Nations, Somalia, and Tanzania, thousands of people from around the world sent their condolences.
In December 2015, he was nominated as a Member of Parliament by President John Magufuli and thereafter appointed to the Cabinet as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
