A 24-year-old woman was taken into custody in connection to the early Saturday morning shooting death of another woman.
Phoenix police responded to reports of the shooting at around 5 a.m. and found a woman with gunshot wounds near 27th Avenue and West Indian School Road.
Phoenix Fire crews treated and transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she died.
Later on Saturday, 24-year-old Teayanna Minter turned herself into authorities at Glendale Police Department for the shooting.
Officers with Phoenix Police Department took Minter into custody and booked her into Maricopa County Jail for charges of second-degree murder.
