Intelligence trail leads cops to suspicious minibus travelling back from Glastonbury on the M56

Officers made a discovery as they pulled over a minibus heading back from Glastonbury. Police say they received intelligence which linked the vehicle to suspected county lines drug dealing.

It was seen travelling along the M56 motorway yesterday (July 1) as the occupants made their way back to the North West from the festival. Officers tracked it from the motorway in Cheshire, before crossing the Mersey Gateway bridge to Widnes.

As it reached Higher Road in Halewood, Merseyside, at 9.50pm, patrols brought the vehicle to a halt using pre-emptive tactics. Officers searched the minibus and found a quantity of Class A and B drugs, as well as several mobile phones which were seized.
