Fireworks on July 4th symbolize the spirit of freedom and commemorating when the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776.
You can see spectacular fireworks at three three places in the Wilmington area on Independence Day.
City of Wilmington
The city of Wilmington presents the 4th of July Fireworks along the downtown Wilmington Riverwalk beginning at 9:05 p.m. and ending at 9:25 p.m. Fireworks will be shot from a barge located at the Cape Fear and Northeast Cape Fear rivers, just north of the Battleship North Carolina. Note that there will be a boating safety zone for 30 minutes after the fireworks around the launch site.

North Carolina 4th of July Festival at Southport
The North Carolina 4th of July Festival at Southport fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. at the Southport Waterfront Park, 146-176 East Bay St., Southport.
Ocean Isle Beach
Ocean Isle Beach will hold fireworks at 9:15 p.m. launched from the Ocean Isle Beach Pier at 1 W. First St.
