At least 20 people have been killed and more than 50 injured in waves of Russian missile attacks across Ukraine, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Monday.
Kiev was among the cities worst impacted, along with Kryvyi Rih in southern Ukraine.
In Kiev, a large children’s hospital was also hit, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The Russian army fired cruise missiles and several Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at targets in the city that is home to 3 million people, the Ukrainian Air Force said.
Residents in Kiev’s centre heard two dozen explosions, presumably the result of anti-aircraft missiles. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris fell in four of the city’s neighbourhoods.
