New York’s DeCicco & Sons grocer announces new location

There’s good news for those living near the Connecticut border: DeCicco & Sons, in New York since 1973 (with locations in Ardsley, Armonk, Bedford, Brewster, Eastchester, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham and Somers), is opening next summer in Greenwich.

Set to occupy a 20,000-square-foot space at 11 Glen Ridge Road, this new spot will be the company’s 12th store overall. (Their Sleepy Hollow spot at Edge-on-Hudson should open in winter 2025.)

As with its other locations, the store will feature gourmet groceries in addition to a wide beer selection, Italian baked goods, fresh produce, and prepared foods. They’ll also offer meats from partner farms that align with the company’s core values of humanely raised animals without using antibiotics or added hormones.

And, it will be constructed with eco-friendly practices in mind, using Pozzotive, a building material incorporating recycled glass into concrete and reclaimed brick and wood to minimize the store’s carbon footprint. The commitment to sustainability extends to the store’s operations, utilizing energy-efficient systems and recycling heat generated by refrigeration equipment to power hot water and in-store heating. Additionally, the store will employ non-ozone-depleting refrigerant, high-efficiency equipment.

Greenwich, Conn., residents can also expect a school rebate program to benefit local schools.

“Our Greenwich location represents a milestone for us,” said Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Owner Chris DeCicco. “We’re not just opening a store; we’re bringing our 50-year legacy of providing the finest selection of groceries, prepared foods, and specialty items to a new location.

“We’re also creating opportunities for growth within a new community. Every DeCicco & Sons store evolves with the neighborhood it serves; we’ll create a space that not only meets the needs of local shoppers but truly feels like an extension of their homes.”
