Rylan Clark has confessed to his ‘secret single behaviour’ despite him seemingly finding ‘someone who truly loves you in life’. The BBC Radio 2’s love life is often a hot topic following his marriage split a few years ago.
Rylan split from ex-husband Dan Neal in 2021. The pair met on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side – which Rylan was hosting – in 2015 and they became engaged the following year. Rylan and Dan, an ex-Met Police detective, walked down the aisle in 2016 and kept their relationship away from the public eye.
The news of his marriage coming to an end emerged amid Rylan’s four-month break from the spotlight and it wasn’t until later that he opened up about his struggles during that period. But as speculation began as to why he had pulled out of his show before his split was rumoured, Rylan confirmed the separation in a statement.

After suffering serious complications with his mental health in that period, Rylan has since come out the other side and a few years on and questions of whether he’s found love again often occur.
But it appears that’s not the case right now. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday night (July 11), the TV and radio star wrote: “My secret single behaviour is scrolling through tik tok live before bed. Tonight I’ve watched Someone make salmon, a lady selling clothes, a man and woman selling fabric softener, a dog just running around a room and someone fell asleep. That app is something else.”
However, it’s no secret that his friend Thomas Skinner is desperate to get him set up and sent out a fresh appeal during a recent outing in London’s fancy Mayfair. Taking to Instagram, former The Apprentice candidate Tom shared a video in which he spoke directly to the camera.
In it he said: “We’re sitting here, in Mayfair in the beautiful Scott’s drinking pink champagne with a lovely few Oysters… But now I’m out here with my friend over there and we’re trying to find him a man!” The camera panned to an unimpressed-looking Rylan as Thomas, seemingly in a nod to the Girl On Couch track, Man In Finance, continued: “So anyone in Mayfair, 6 foot 5, in finance, trust fund, come and find him and if you ain’t got all that, don’t worry.
“To sweeten the deal, what I’m going to do for you is I promise you, if you go out with him, I’ll take you to Dino’s Cafe for breakfast and the beers will always be free.” The camera then again moved to show Rylan as he held his glass of champagne and asked: “Why am I being raffled off?”
But Rylan has found another love, with friend Rob Rinder. The pair joined forces for their own BBC travels series, Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, which saw them discovering Italy’s greatest art treasures from two different perspectives.
While Rob did break the internet when he said the pair were engaged during filming, it would be fair to say the pair are the best of friends. “We shared the same divorce lawyer,” Rylan joked in a previous interview on The One Show.. “Like we didn’t know honestly, you could not have written this.
“Me and Rob both went through a very similar experience with our divorces and things like that. And we say in the show, this trip couldn’t have come at a better time. It was like a brand-new restart.
“And I came back genuinely like a new man. I was like, ‘Oh, there is still a life out there’, and I know that sounds really cheesy like we’re trying to flog our show, genuinely not. And there’s this narrative, this arc that goes through all three episodes, that we never knew when we were there, and it was only when we came back we went, ‘Oh that actually happened’.”
Rob chimed in: “That beautiful, platonic friendship which I think… a lot of people would be there in the middle of the night in an emergency you know, the emergency services will do that for you and people want to inculcate themselves in your terrible drama, you know, and have a speaking part.
“It’s when you find someone who loves you truly in life that you can telephone when something great happens, and they’ll cheer with you in success. That’s the person.”
