According to The New York Times, Secret Service has kicked out members of the press and declared it a crime scene. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung tells the Times that the former president is “fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.” He added that Trump “thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.”

Shortly thereafter, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a photo of his father holding up his fist to the crowd, with the caption, “He’ll never stop fighting to Save America.”

Meanwhile, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has issued the following statement:

Violence targeted at any political party or political leader is absolutely unacceptable. It has no place in Pennsylvania or the United States. I have been briefed on the situation. @PAStatePolice are on the scene in Butler County and working with our federal and local partners.
