BBC star John Hunt in tragic six-word plea amid appeal for one remaining daughter

BBC racing commentator John Hunt has delivered a poignant message following the tragic loss of his wife and two daughters in a devastating crossbow attack, urging everyone to “make the most of every day”.

Carol Hunt, 61, along with her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were tragically killed at their family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on the 9th of July. Kyle Clifford, 26, from Enfield, north London, was apprehended on Thursday evening on charges of triple murder, and is currently under police custody in hospital due to injuries, as stated by Hertfordshire Constabulary.

In the wake of this tragedy, fellow sports commentator Matt Chapman relayed a heartfelt message from Mr Hunt, mentioning that a fundraising initiative has been established to support his remaining daughter, Amy.

Speaking to the BBC, Matt conveyed: “Family means more to some than others and for John, his family unit was something he absolutely adored. He told me: ‘Matty, the message I would tell everyone is you never know when it’s going to be the last day you see your family.”

“The message was very clear: make the most of every day because you just don’t know.”, reports the Express.

Matt also shared that Mr Hunt’s foremost wish is to secure a future without financial concerns for his daughter Amy. He expressed: “There are a lot of people, including myself, who feel helpless and would like to do something.”

“John would like nothing more for Amy after these horrific events than a life that is a little less stressful, because life will never be stress-free again. It’s not going to take their grief away – it’s not going to take the pain away or change anything – but it might help them have an easier life.”

Already, over £28,000 has been raised since the fundraiser was initiated. John and Amy shared a statement together on Saturday, expressing gratitude towards the public for words of encouragement in what they referred to as “an extremely difficult time”.
