Mandarin Oriental to open new resort and residences in Bali

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to open a new luxury resort and branded residences on Bali’s Bukit peninsula, Indonesia.

Scheduled for 2027, the development is a collaboration with real estate developer Harmoni Bali.

Mandarin Oriental, Bali will feature 110 suites and villas, each designed to integrate with the natural environment, offering private terraces or gardens, and most with private pools.

The property will boast unique dining experiences, including a cliff-edge restaurant and bar, a Chinese speciality restaurant, a bar, a spa and a beach club.

Design Lab architects and Jeffrey Wilkes are responsible for the architecture and interiors while landscaping has been handled by Bill Bensley.

The resort will also feature wellness facilities, including heat and water therapies, outdoor swimming pools, private cabanas, and a fitness centre with outdoor spaces for yoga.

It also offers a range of leisure activities such as a Kids Club, tennis and padel courts, water sports, an organic garden, and a sustainability lab.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and is close to tourist destinations such as Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Sanur.

It is also adjacent to the Bukit Pandawa Golf Course and near the Bali National Golf Club.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group chief executive Laurent Kleitman said: “We are delighted to extend Mandarin Oriental’s renowned levels of hospitality and exceptional experiences to the beautiful island of Bali. With its stunning cliff-top location and thoughtful design, underpinned by our award-winning service, this resort and branded Residences will offer guests and homeowners an unparalleled blend of tranquillity and elegance.”

The branded residences within the resort will include 68 private villas, offering three to six bedrooms and set on an 8ha site above the hotel.

In addition to the resort’s facilities, residents will have access to exclusive clubhouse amenities, including lounge facilities, co-working space, function areas, and a private gym and swimming pool.

Last month, Mandarin Oriental reached the significant milestone of 40 operational hotels worldwide following the opening of two properties in Mayfair, London; and Muscat, Oman.
