Aug. 22—A man was struck by what police believe was a paintball behind a downtown restaurant Thursday morning, Santa Fe police Deputy Chief Ben Valdez said.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. behind Pranzo, a restaurant at the corner of Guadalupe and Johnson streets, Valdez said, adding the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening.
Santa Fe police had taped off a block of Guadalupe Street for hours Thursday morning to conduct a criminal investigation.
Officers had made contact with a person they believe was involved in the incident, he said, but no charges had been filed.
“Right now we’re trying to figure out what occurred and processing the location,” Valdez said, adding more information on the incident would be available in the coming hours.
