It’s really hot. Will temps drop on Labor Day weekend?

We’ve all spent all morning talking about how hot it might get. And with a three-day weekend coming up, oppressive heat could take some of the fun out of outdoor activities.

But there’s good news: It’s supposed to cool down. Here’s a look at the forecast as of late morning on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Weather forecast for Friday, Aug. 30

According to the NWS forecast for Indianapolis, there’s a 50% chance of rain. Highs are in the 90s and lows are in the upper 60s.

Heat advisory in Indiana: It’s never safe to leave pets, kids alone in the car — especially today

Weather forecast for Saturday, Aug. 31

On Saturday, there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms and showers. The high will be in the mid 80s and the lows in the lower 60s.

Weather forecast for Sunday, Sept. 1

Sunday’s highs are in the low 80s, with a low in the high 50s.

Weather forecast for Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 2)

By Labor Day, the Indianapolis area is expected to have a high in the mid-70s.

Indiana is under a heat advisory

The heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
