The California Highway Patrol seized 100 pounds of crystal meth during a traffic stop in Monterey County early Friday morning.
The drugs were worth around $120,000, according to a CHP Facebook post.
At 5:20 a.m., a CHP officer stopped a 2006 Ford Mustang for a traffic violation at the Bradley Rest Area near the San Luis Obispo County line.
“During the interaction, the officer noted several factors that led him to believe the driver was engaged in criminal activity,” the post read.
The officer deployed their K-9 partner, Rae, to sniff the vehicle, which is when they discovered the meth, the post said.
Pablo Politronestrada, 39, of Salinas was arrested and subsequently booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale and transportation of methamphetamine.
