Loose Women's Ruth Langsford responds to wedding ring question

L oose Women star Ruth Langsford has responded to a question regarding her wedding ring, clarifying why she is still wearing it.

The presenter, who joined the panel permanently in 2013, split from her husband of 14 years, Eamonn Holmes, earlier this year, with the pair currently in the process of divorcing.

Nearly four months on from the announcement, Ruth took to Instagram on Sunday (September 1) to show off a recipe for her green juice, which she takes into work each morning.

During the video, Ruth can be seen still wearing her wedding ring, with one follower asking in the comments section: “Why has she still got her wedding rings on?”.

Ruth simply replied: “Because I’m still married.”

Ruth has opted to stay silent on her separation from Eamonn in the ensuing weeks, though he commented on the news during a presenting stint on GB News, with the star thanking close friends for their support.

“I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,” he said. “Your support for both of us is very appreciated.”

He subsequently made another reference to the separation the following month, sharing that he was “not okay” and that it was “not a good time.”

Linda Robson, Ruth’s co-star from Loose Women, did however offer a comment from her colleague’s point of view, sharing that Ruth was “keeping her spirits high” during the tough period of her life.

“We’re staying out of it because it’s not our business,” said Robson. “But we’re supporting her in any way we can and just keeping her happy. It’s sad for the both of them but just keeping her spirits high.”
