Dame Dash has called out 50 Cent with a challenge to put his resources and money up to the test.
On Wednesday (Sept. 5), the entrepreneur responded to 50 Cent’s taunts at his financial challenges. In a video uploaded to Instagram, Dash conjured up a solution to their dispute.
“Somebody definitely sent me that cute sh*t 50 said about me not having no money, and because of that, I feel like now me and 50 should have a battle,” he explained. “No gangster sh*t, I’m 53 years old. That would be wack and corny for the culture, but he’s in the television network business now.
He continued, “If I was a rapper, I would be like ‘Alright I’ma make a diss record, you make a diss record.’ Nah, let’s not do that. Let’s do [a] CEO war. You drop your television network today. You should be able to do that because you have power, you have the resources and you know, you’re getting money. And because I’m ‘broke,’ this should be easy work.”
The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder also challenged the Queens rapper to purchase his one-third ownership stake in the label when it goes up for sale at public auction later this month.
“50 was popping it, from what I heard, that he had that $12 million to buy Roc-A-Fella … But where you at? It’s still for sale, the prices are up. But they pushed the auction back…The starting price was $1.2, now it’s $3 million. If you got it like you say it, buy it. I challenge you.”
Earlier this week, the G-Unit rapper sat down with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo for an episode of the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, with part of the conversation centered on Dame Dash’s reaction to 50 Cent’s 2002, $1 million deal with Shady Records.
“The only person that pointed out a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now,” remembered the “Many Men” performer. “How you gonna say that’s no money?”
He continued, “I’m from 134th Street. A million dollars is a lot of money. I think I hit the lotto. How are you gonna say that it’s no money? I just never forgot that because of how it felt.”
