According to global times news agency Europe, His Excellency Frederico Silva, Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, hosted an important meeting at the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad, which was attended by the members of visiting Portuguese delegation. The meeting was arranged on the request of Mr. Khushdil Khan Malik, former Provincial Minister, in order to foster dialogue on issues of mutual interests between Pakistan and Portugal. During the discussions, a variety of diplomatic, economic, and consular matters were addressed and it was pledged facilitate the aspirants of visa from the Embassy at maximum, so that, Pakistani visitors and particularly students may be able visit Portugal without much hindrance in future. H.E. Frederico Silva assured the attendees that the Portuguese Embassy is committed to tackling consular issues, although he acknowledged the difficulties posed by a large volume of visa applicants. A key highlight of the meeting was Mr. Malik’s proposal for a dual nationality agreement between Pakistan and Portugal, which was acknowledged by both sides with positive consideration as such agreement would enhance cooperation and offer significant benefits to citizens of both the countries. Entrepreneurs and officials from both nations participated in the event, expressing a shared commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and promoting economic growth. The meeting concluded on a note with optimism about the potential for future collaborations that will strengthen the friendship and economic ties between Pakistan and Portugal.
