‘The Hunt’ is on – everything you need to know about the 2024 Far Hills Race Meeting

The Far Hills Race Meeting, one of the country’s premier steeplechases and one of the most anticipated annual events in Central Jersey, returns this month.

The 103rd running, known locally as “The Hunt,” features six races, headlined by The American Grand National with a $250,000 purse; the event’s total purse is $700,000.

When is The Hunt Far Hills 2024

12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Gates open at 8 a.m. Races will run rain or shine. The last race is expected to be run at 4:30 p.m.

How much is The Hunt Far Hills

$110 for general admission in advance to $750 for tailgate space along the rail, the hilltop, lower turn and family area. For $1,500 you can get a spot at the top of the stretch with a 10-by-10-foot tent. Admission tickets are sold on race day at the gates for $220.

Attendees are not permitted to bring any alcohol through the pedestrian gates. Only reserved parking spot holders, corporate tent holders and registered caterers are permitted to bring alcohol on the property for their private parties. Spectators are subject to search at pedestrian gates. Visibly intoxicated attendees will be denied entry.
