Montgomery woman dies in Thursday crash

A Montgomery woman died in a Thursday afternoon crash.

Carol W. Lowe, 63, was fatally injured when the 2007 Honda Pilot, she was a passenger in, left the roadway and struck a tree, said Lt. Jeremy Burkett, spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Pilot, Wilbert A. Brooks, 63, of Montgomery was also injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment, Burkett said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on U.S. 80 near the 122 mile marker, about three miles west of Montgomery, in Montgomery County, he said.
